What’s the job?


The Analyst, Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Compliance is responsible for the administration of the CCS anti-money laundering/anti-terrorist financing (AMLATF) program to ensure reporting compliance with various requirements under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and related regulations(PCMLTFA/R). The incumbent must maintain a current awareness and understanding of relevant legal and reporting issues to protect the interests of CCS, specifically in relation to the PCMLTFA/R due to the severe legal penalties for non-compliance.



What you’ll get to do:

  • Responsible for administering, recording and reporting Suspicious Transaction Reports, Terrorist Financing Reports, Large Cash Transaction Records, Electronic Funds Transfer reporting, and determination of Politically Exposed Foreign Persons
  • Assign, monitor and communicate relevant due dates relating to FINTRAC reporting requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Being well-versed in AMLATF, acts as a resource/consultant to all employees in relation to anti-money laundering/anti-terrorist financing compliance matters. 
  • Support AMLATF related projects as required that are undertaken to ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Support the AMLATF Investigator as required with the investigation and ongoing monitoring of customer accounts.
  • Through studying external and internal trends, looks for results that help identify the effectiveness of our internal monitoring software, tools, processes used to identify suspicious behaviour.
  • Monitor identified high risk customers, products, services and accounts for suspicious activity, utilizing monitoring software and any available reports, (ie: Countries of Concern lists) to detect suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor customer accounts and activity using monitoring software and any available reports, including reports from branches, to detect money laundering and/or terrorist financing activity.
  • Analyze and review Large Cash Transaction Records to ensure CCS meets legal requirements relating to the collection and reporting of Large Cash Transaction Records as required by law.
  • Responsible for the determination of Politically Exposed Foreign Persons (PEFP) using subscribed software. Assign PEFP for investigation when positive determination made.
  • Responsible for making transaction disclosures on Large Cash Transaction Records, Electronic Funds Transfers, and Suspicious Transactions as required by law.
  • Responsible for conducting monthly OSFI Terrorist name checks, reporting any findings to the Manager, AMLATF Compliance and preparing required report for FiCom to be submitted by Manager, AMLATF Compliance.
  • Responsible for identifying/analyzing risks affecting CCS and make appropriate recommendations to prevent/mitigate future risk and/or improve efficiency in relation to AMLATF compliance matters.
  • Responsible for providing consultative services for all internal clients in relation to the AMLATF compliance program as it relates to the completion and submission of Large Cash Transaction Reports, Electronic Funds Transfer reports and Suspicious Transaction Reports.
  • As necessary, act as a liaison between CCS and FINTRAC in relation to Large Cash Transaction Reports, Electronic Funds Transfers and Suspicious Transaction Reports.
  • Team Approach •Assist as required in all areas of the department.


Who are we looking for?

  • Minimum 1 – 3 Years of Job-Related Experience.  1-3 years of experience in financial institutions is required.
  • High School Diploma plus some additional post-secondary courses.
  • Proficient knowledge of banking and banking system
  • Proficient knowledge of CCS products, services & policies
  • Proficient knowledge of computers, computer programs (e.g. Word, Excel)
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Aptitude for detailed work
  • Ability to exercise good judgment
  • Ability to work within a team environment
