Assistant Treasury Manager

What’s the job?

As the Assistant Treasury Manager you will be responsible for execution of treasury requirements under the direction of treasury senior management. You will have exposure to all areas of treasury including but not limited to Liquidity, Capital, ALM, FTP, investment and FX management.

 

What you’ll get to do:

  • Provide information to determine if Coast Capital Savings is within investment policy tolerance levels.
  • Prepare information for the ALCO reports.
  • Monitoring the cash balances on all bank accounts and determining the investment needs of CCS.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory liquidity requirements
  • Updating CCS banking system, external and internal web pages staff and member rate sheets
  • Preparing the monthly mortgage and term discretion reporting
  • Provide cash forecasting analysis
  • Updating department policies and procedures and communicating them to the company
  • Back-up for Treasury for updating and running the Interest Rate Risk modeling software.
  • Assist with negotiation on pricing for Retail and Commercial member deposits
  • Provide assistance with the maintenance of the Coast Capital Savings asset securitization program and documentation.
  • Responsible for the reporting on all derivatives
  • Analyze and review of the investment portfolio including: investment income, foreign exchange, and mortgage securities both bought and sold
  • Manage USD long\short position to ensure proper management of foreign currencies
  • Review competition's interest rate environment and suggest alternative product pricing

 

Who are we looking for?

  • Minimum 4 – 6 Years of Job-Related Experience. The individual must have a technical foundation in finance. The individual must be familiar with financial institution/ treasury operations. Ideally should have work as the Treasury Analyst or similar capacity elsewhere for a minimum of 3 years. 
  • Bachelor's Degree or a diploma requiring 3 - 4 years of full-time study.
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet software and databases
  • Some knowledge of derivative products and asset securitization
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Knowledge of finance, economics, investment markets, investment theory and trading strategies
  • Proficient knowledge of banking systems
  • Financial modeling experience
  • Requires the highest performance standards and professionalism
  • Work effectively as part of a team by demonstrating high regard and respect for colleagues and a willingness to support the efforts of others as needed.
  • Proven ability to exercise good judgment and to make difficult risk-taking and non-retractable decisions quickly and decisively.

  • Works effectively with limited supervision and within established authorities; is proactive in identifying and pursuing tasks with energy, drive, and a need to “finish”; knows when and what to refer for guidance and/or approval
  • Clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions with appropriate attention to detail; sets clear objectives and measures, monitoring process, progress, and results; designs feedback loops
