Business Analyst, Compliance

Location: British Columbia (CA-BC)

What’s the Job:


Reporting to the Manager of the Compliance Agile Team the Business Analyst, Compliance will be part of a small team focused on continuous improvement within our Compliance Team.   

You will establish and build relationships with stakeholders from across the Compliance Team, wider Coast organization, and partner organizations to support their work. 

You will learn our operations in order to engage with stakeholders in meaningful ways, and make proposals within a business context. 

You will successfully facilitate workshops and individual requirements gathering sessions creating requirements documents, other appropriate artifacts, and user stories in Jira to support our work. 

You will be fully engaged in all aspects of the team Scrum process working autonomously without direct supervision. 


What You’ll Get to Do:


Identify steps to complete stories and work the items to completion building appropriate technical, training, and associated artifacts, and sharing information as required. 

Work with stakeholders to extend the backlog by identifying possibilities for improvement using their needs and your own insight to question and discover opportunities. 

Interface with other teams at Coast, and external partners to gain feedback, manage work, and achieve results supporting Team, Division, and Coast Capital goals. 

Liaise with business owners and vendors for projects and other requests as required to advance initiatives and report progress.  

Work with stakeholder groups to elicit and document requirements, processes, and other artifacts including training material.  

Provide expert analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail, ability to visualize out-of-the-box solutions, and commitment to excellence being both proactive and reactive as situations require. 

Lead, motivate and mentor colleagues, working as part of a team to meet department goals and other objectives. 


Who are We Looking for:


Minimum 4 years working as part of a project or Scrum team in technology development or continuous improvement programs or projects 

Bachelor’s degree in a technical, mathematical, statistical, or scientific discipline or equivalent work experience is required. 

A certification in Change Management, Business Analysis, Business Relationship Management, or Project Management is an asset. 

Strong Excel, Powerpoint, and Word skills are required. 

Advanced ability to manage multitask and prioritize a complex heavy workload with minimal supervision. Can work with changing priorities and tight timelines. 

Advanced ability to scope business analysis including workflow analysis, business information requirements and models. 

Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write quality documentation at various stages of Agile and Scrum product development. 

Previous experience with Jira is strongly preferable. 

Strong/effective communication skills, both internal and external. 

Expert attention to detail is required with an appreciation of the impact of errors on business operations. 

Proven ability to drive forward projects and be a champion for change and improvement, challenging accepted standards, and interacting with senior leadership. 

Experience managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines to achieve measurable results.
