What’s the job?
The Senior Credit Approvals Specialist performs analysis and adjudication of credit applications for either Direct or Broker Channel lines of business. The incumbent provides direction and oversight to an assigned team of Credit Analysts.
What you'll get to do:
- Liaise with and maintain productive relationships with lines of business.
- Analyze and exercise judgment to approve within assigned discretionary limits, recommend, or decline requests for credit facilities from a variety of business referral sources, with emphasis on equipment financing and leases, in accordance with the Credit Union’s Risk Appetite, Lending Policy and Guidelines.
- Manage the application process to improve speed, quality and compliance.
- Negotiate terms, conditions and pricing of product offerings with prospective and existing customers.
- Pursue and develop opportunities for mutually beneficial business relationships with new and existing members while embracing a credit culture that drives minimizing/mitigating risk.
- Provide advice regarding financing options and processes to potential customers, equipment dealers, and business principals, and refer them to other professionals or agencies for additional assistance when appropriate.
- Responsible for identifying and referring opportunities for additional business to partners within Coast Capital.
- Further strengthen client relationships and commitment with and to the overall team and ultimately Coast Capital.
Who we're looking for:
- 7-9 years of credit experience with sound knowledge of all aspects of equipment finance and leasing. Commercial underwriting experience.
- Thorough understanding of asset values, specialized equipment applications, and industry dynamics relevant to financing.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting is highly desired. Diploma in Business Administration or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Ability to read and interpret financial statements.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Possesses a strong proficiency in the Compass application process.
- Strongly proficient in the Lease Plus operating system.
- Team player with a high degree of flexibility.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly collaborative, with a keen focus on customer service.
