What’s the job?
This role is responsible for managing and overseeing the fraud, corporate security, and financial crime compliance (including anti-money laundering, anti-terrorist financing and sanctions) program, operations and investigations for all of Coast Capital and its related entities (where applicable). In particular, the role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence in preventing and detecting financial crimes (and the corresponding impact on Coast Capital and its members), setting and adjusting KPIs and KRIs and reporting on those, and operationalizing the fraud and AMLATF program components to meet regulatory requirements and expectations. The role ensures appropriate people and technology exist to meet Coast Capital member and regulatory expectations relating to financial crimes.
What you’ll get to do:
- Oversee a team of financial crime risk analysts (i.e. level 1) and financial crime risk investigators (i.e. level 2) to ensure corporate and industry financial intelligence and reporting standards are met.
- Oversee a team who conducts member risk assessment, due diligence and enhanced due diligence and supports demarketing in coordination with lines of business.
- Oversee risk management specialists that manage fraud, AMLATF and sanctions program components (training, documentation, risk assessment, audit engagement) and engaging with agile teams on program development.
- Delivers the target operating model including technology, people and processes to continue the journey of creating a scalable solution that meets the needs of Coast Capital, its employees and its members.
- Ensure Coast Capital meets its regulatory expectations by supporting projects and initiatives as a subject matter expert
- Creates procedures and reporting to ensure senior management and the Board have appropriate line of sight into the status of Coast Capital’s financial crime and corporate security risk.
- Oversees the tuning and testing of technology systems and vendors used to monitor, detect, prevent and respond to financial crime and associated regulatory risks.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's Degree or a diploma requiring 3 - 4 years of full-time study.
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation an asset.
- Other formal education or equivalent experience in AMLATF and/or fraud risk management, internal controls management, governance and assessment (audit) or project management desired. Other formal training or equivalent experience in people management, change management, facilitation, negotiation, or communication desired.
- Minimum 7-9 Years of Job Related Experience in compliance and/or risk management is required
- Experience within the financial crimes operations space in a financial institution is required.
- Proven ability to develop and execute an effective financial crime risk management program required.
- Experience using a full suite of financial crime risk management tools to identify, assess, manage and report financial crime risk is desired.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships with colleagues which includes providing constructive feedback to colleagues is required.
- Experience in process design, improvement and/or experience in more than one type of risk under the umbrella of risk management is desirable.

- Strong knowledge of AMLATF regulatory requirements and practices to manage AMLATF risk.
