Our Facilities Group plays an important role in ensuring our Branches and Administrative locations are a comfortable and safe location for our staff to work and our Members to visit. Reporting to the Building Operations Manager, you will work on projects to support the day-today operations of our physical spaces by responding to service requests, managing projects and managing office logistics.
What you’ll get to do:
- Proactively perform preventative maintenance by monitoring and completing periodic inspections of Coast Capital physical premises and assets
- Review and authorize invoices for material and services
- Receive, update and close-off work orders in an online work assignment system
- Ensure all workplace hazards and hazardous materials policies and regulations are adhered to (e.g.: WHMIS, COHSR, Worksafe BC).
- Complete day-to-day maintenance including; changing filters in HVAC units, replacing light tubes and ballasts in light fixtures, managing recycling services, moving furniture, and performing general repairs and upgrades.
- Coordinate, and oversee the services of contractors, vendors, and tradespeople when performing repairs or new construction.
- Assist with office space reconfiguration, staff moves and physical renovations
- Plan and manage branch and office space renovations
- Assist employees in assessing facilities issues, working collaboratively through to resolution
- Source and negotiate the cost of goods and services required to complete repair and renovation projects.
- Stay current and knowledgeable of best practices and new technologies in trades related to Coast Capital FM
- Provide emergency restoration services as needed in Coast Capital facilities
- Conduct Safe work procedures and participate in regular safety meetings
Who are we looking for?
- Trades experience (electrical, mechanical, heating and ventilation, carpentry, millwork, flooring, roofing systems, painting, drywall, glazing, locksmith technology, plumbing and office workstation systems) with broad, hands-on construction, facilities maintenance, or building maintenance work experience. Or preferably a Certificate of Apprenticeship in a Trade Program recognized by Industry Training Association (ITA) in the Province of BC.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams
- Ability to use good judgement and decision-making skills for resolving building maintenance and repair-related issues within a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with Coast Capital employees in various levels of the credit union as well as vendors.
- Comfortable to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated experience operating construction/maintenance equipment in a safe and knowledgeable manner
- Valid BC Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- Willingness to be on rotation for on-call on a 24/7 basis for after-hours emergencies and scheduled after-hours and weekend maintenance
