Manager, Master Data Management

Location: British Columbia (CA-BC)

Purpose:

To build and lead a Master Data Management (MDM) program which enables Coast Capital Savings to effectively leverage enterprise data assets to drive revenues, promote innovation, and reduce costs. The Manager, Master Data Management will lead the development, documentation, implementation, and operations of the MDM software as well as its related processes and procedures, across Coast Capital Savings.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Establishes and manages the MDM Program for the maintenance and integrity of the organization's master data.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders across the business and IT to develop a roadmap for the MDM program, managing the strategic and technical needs of all stakeholders and projects at Coast Capital.
  • Works with leaders of functional teams across the organization to improve the design and flow of Master and Reference data across teams.
  • Establishes and documents data governance policies, processes, and guidelines, working together with business teams to nurture a culture of accountability for complete and accurate data.
  • Engages a cross-functional and cross-departmental team to build an MDM center of excellence.
  • Leads, manages, coaches, develops and evaluates direct reports.
  • Engages and coordinates with external contractors and consultants, as needed, to build and enhance the MDM program and platforms.

 

Attributes:

  • Bachelor's Degree or a diploma requiring 3 - 4 years of full-time study.

  • Minimum 7 – 9 years of job related experience.

  • Deep knowledge and experience with Master Data Management tools, processes, and policies.
  • Experience with other Data Governance tools and processes is an asset, including Data Quality, Data Cataloging, Glossary, and Lineage management.
  • 5+ years of Data Management experience at the enterprise level. Experience with AWS or other cloud data warehouse platform is considered an asset.
  • 3+ years of direct people management and leading delivery through others.

  • Initiative: Works effectively with limited supervision and within established authorities; is proactive in identifying and pursuing tasks with energy, drive, and a need to “finish”; knows when and what to refer for guidance and/or approval.
  • Member/Client Focus: dedicated to meeting the expectations and needs of internal and external clients; establishes effective relationships with members, earning trust/respect; acts with a conscious intent to fulfill our CCS purpose .
  • Strategic Thinking: demonstrated enterprise perspective and experience ensuring practices, divisional strategies and tactics align with organizational culture, plans and priorities; maintains a holistic and informed perspective.
