Role Purpose

 

The Release Coordinator is accountable for the end-to-end management of updates (releases) to our new digital footprint in the cloud, the SAM banking application and its underlying platforms and the management of the overall T24 environments. This will include the underlying process, tasks and logistics across all environments from development through to production across core banking as well as Digital, through CI/CD. This role will also coordinate underlying activities across multiple teams (from development and testing through production support) and with both internal (Coast employees) and external (3rd party services vendors and/or contractors and consultants) stakeholders.

 

Accountabilities

 

Operations

 

  • Perform releases (local and Temenos) to non-production environments
  • Validate releases from development (local and Temenos) to ensure dependencies have been identified and only QA’d releases are promoted to production
  • Perform approved releases (local and core) to production environment
  • Perform approved data fixes (e.g. AA fixes) and patches as required
  • Develop, document and execute all processes surrounding code releases to include: implementation planning, testing, and training/communication
  • Identify and escalate areas of non-compliance with the overall Change and Release Management processes

 

Problem Solving

 

  • Investigates releases that fail or cause service incidents through root cause analysis and increases the overall release success rate (and ultimately minimizes impact to production systems)

 

Project Coordination

 

  • Ensures that Coast has appropriate documentation and readiness assessment for all releases. Work in conjunction with internal control groups as well as application development teams to ensure consistent and documented software deployment
  • Collaborates with development, QA, support and other teams for appropriate planning, installation, configuration, and deployment processes
  • Identify, communicate, manage and track deployment dependencies

 

Skills & Qualifications

 

  • 2-4 years of Release Management experience; 2-4 years of related application administration experience including code packaging/releases and test data refreshes
  • High School Diploma plus completion of a Diploma Program (two years of formal education or equivalent). Technical diploma required.
  • Strong understanding of configuration management, change management, defect tracking and build systems and effective usage of these systems for tracking and deployment of successful releases to production
  • Knowledge/background in software industry products/services/applications.
  • Solid knowledge of SDLC and software development methodologies
  • Experience with both waterfall and Agile project management principles
  • Manage relationships and coordinate between different Agile teams, testing groups, and training teams involved in the overall product release cycle
  • Manage software configuration changes and approve software deployments to environments
  • Consolidate release notes from each team on the release train
  • Guide the Agile teams to follow existing and updated release processes, as well as help to refine and continually improve processes
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a complex, heavy workload with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Systems Life Cycle Methodology
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to determine priorities and work to those priorities
  • Ability to scale your focus from details, to holistic views
  • Eagerness to work independently, learn voraciously, and take responsibility
