Senior Manager, Small Business Initiatives

What’s the job?

The Senior Manager, Small Business Banking Initiatives is a leadership and impact and influence role within the Small Business team. The incumbent is instrumental in assessing, designing, recommending and enabling the operational and administrative infrastructure to support Small Business Banking (SBB) strategy. This position is responsible for recommending solutions that will ensure all processes and procedures optimally enable day to day business needs and execution of strategic initiatives.

 

What you’ll get to do:

  • Act as the SBB lead and liaison to key operational partners such as Marketing, Product Management, Operations, Group Risk Management, Internal Audit, EPMO, IT, Treasury and Facilities
  • As a SBB subject matter expert, lead and coordinate participation in cross functional projects and committees for operational initiatives and ensure effective implementation and alignment to strategy
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives in support of operational excellence  
  • Contribute to the design of solutions integrating service delivery between Commercial, Retail Banking, and back office organizations with a focus on delivering superior member experience
  • Provide advisory insights and recommendations to the VP of Small Business Banking
  • Work with marketing and product management partners to develop segmented SBB solutions
  • Support crafting of SBB strategy and works with Commercial Operations to support implementation.

 

 Who are we looking for?

  • 10+ years of broad experience within the financial industry across business lines and distribution channels, with significant Head office experience.
  • Progressive experience in Small Business Banking. Successful project management experience.
  • Minimum of either a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Commerce or other relevant professional designation such as an accounting designation. MBA preferred.
  • Project management certification an asset
  • Proficient knowledge of computers and computer programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Demonstrated capability in building presentations i.e., Powerpoint to convey key messages and business performance at all levels
  • Highly adaptable and collaborative with strong leadership, planning and strategic thinking abilities
  • Effectively utilize data to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Builds constructive, mutually beneficial relationships, appropriate rapport and relates well to others.
  • Demonstrated experience using a variety of strategies to impact and influence senior leaders and others where there is no direct reporting relationship
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to present at all levels from working committee to Executive
  • Proven ability to work with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Understands how organizations work and how to get things done through both formal and informal channels.
  • Works effectively with limited supervision and within established authorities; is proactive in identifying and pursuing tasks with energy, drive, and a need to “finish”; knows when and what to refer for guidance and/or approval
  • Makes good decisions, in a timely manner, based on analysis, experience, and judgment
