Senior Product Manager, Credit & Creditor Insurance

What’s the job?

 

As the Senior Product Manager - Credit & Creditor Insurance, you will contribute to the achievement of Coast Capital Savings’ business objectives through effectively managing individual products, product lines and product lifecycles that achieves maximum revenues, customer growth, customer satisfaction and alignment to business strategy. In this role you will consult regularly with all members of the marketing team and other stakeholders and also frequently work with other departments and Executive Management. You will manage relationships with select third-party product providers and stays abreast of changes and opportunities occurring in the Fintech, retail, and financial services industry.

 

 

What you’ll get to do:

  • Lead analytical portion of product development, provide input on product direction, i.e. enhancing and consolidating current products
  • Identify opportunities for product growth and improvements.
  • Direct the modelling and performance measurement of proposed and existing products and product enhancements.
  • Provide effective written and oral communication (i.e., Marketing communications such as pipelines, analysis, debriefs, reports and presentations to senior management)
  • Manage cross functional team's performance in product and service management to deliver quality outputs in a timely fashion
  • Coach and mentor staff to achieve success in the long term.
  • Work with Enterprise Analytics and Marketing Data Analyst to improve existing product metrics. In addition, working with external vendors to improve reporting metrics as well.
  • Actively participate in annual service charge review process as it relates to fees/charges related to credit products & contribute through market, competitor analysis
  • Actively review product results across business lines in comparison to annual AOP budget and provide recommendations or develop action plans
  • Manage competitive scans of products and services from other financial institutions and continually track product developments.
  • Work with Marketing Data Analyst and Channel Marketing group on exploring targeted direct marketing opportunities through data mining and analysis
  • Plan product and pricing strategy in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Credit and Credit Cards
  • Assume role of project lead when opportunities or gaps are identified and to proactively move forward
  • Work with Branding and Advertising and Communications teams on new product launches
  • Liaise with Information Technology Group on implementing new products and/or changes to products/fees

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or a diploma requiring 3 - 4 years of full-time study.
  • University degree in business administration, commerce, marketing or social sciences with a high level of math or statistical analysis, including or supplemented by courses in marketing and marketing research
  • Minimum three to five years product management experience with a proven record of product management and new product development, preferably in the credit and/or insurance industries.
  • Experience with sales of mortgages, personal loans, lines of credit, and HELOC's and creditor insurance products is valued.
  • Superior facility with communication, project planning and analysis.
  • Experience in working with various customer (including CRM) databases and statistical modeling programs.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office suite, plus statistical software such as SPSS, SAS)
  • Ability to manipulate data in MS Access/Excel
  • Strong knowledge of financial and statistical mathematics
  • Investment Industry Certification (i.e. CFP, CSC, PFP, IFIC, etc.)
  • Knowledge or understanding of the financial services industry desirable
  • Demonstrated impact and influencing skills, and the ability to do so with those where there is no direct line of authority
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong people management skills
