What’s the job?


The Technical Business Analyst plays a key role as a subject matter expert and technical advisor for various strategic initiatives at CCS. The role will be responsible for developing detailed functional and business requirement specifications. It will also study and redesign various systems, applications, and processes in order to provide expert analysis on business systems and applications while liaising between business units, end-users, technology / digital teams, and support groups. Additionally, collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs. Make suggestions for technology solutions to pacify decision-making with a focus on the digital systems, technology strategies and standards. And engage in making recommendations for requirements approach for projects during the Discovery phase or be asked to resolve complex requirements conflicts through effective stakeholder engagement.

What you’ll get to do:



  • Develop detailed functional and business requirement specifications, acting as the bridge between the business side and the technical side to ensure functional specifications are met 
  • Create, execute and manage change plans by ultilizing strong knowledge of change impact and readiness assessment
  • Present ideas and options to senior stakeholders in a focused and concise manner, creating a compelling business justification for recommended direction and design.
  • Design and document current / future state solutions. Drive all relevant requirements development through the elicitation, analysis, specification and verification of multiple levels of requirements from an end-to-end perspective. Support the ongoing management of the requirements to ensure the most effective recommendations are made for successful solution and project plan completion.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders and party suppliers to develop consensus during the requirements definition phase; including running workshops, brainstorming sessions, A/B scenarios, and prototyping.
  • Translation of complex business requirements into functional requirements including interpreting technical documentation as well as authoring or updating documents as needed (Functional Designs, Business Process Designs, User Stories, etc.)
  • Interpret user needs and work with technical experts to write functional specifications for new systems, systems changes and/or system enhancements.
  • Conduct business process reviews, and developing business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Coordinate deliverables and contribute to strategy/planning with management and other stakeholders for effective project management and delivery
  • Write use cases, test cases, and support QA during all testing phase and define and driving UAT process. 
  • Act as SME for the creation of customized end-user training material both online and in classroom.
  • Drive and lead continuous improvement of BA processes and interactions with the PO's and Tech; make recommendations to improve overall effectiveness and efficiency of the business and team.
  • Perform root cause analysis and advanced troubleshooting of technical systems; and help develop solutions for these issues
  • Develop business proposals, including cost-benefits/feasibility analysis, and ROI to evaluate systems design/enhancement proposals and other business initiatives.
  • Accurately estimate the cost and time to implement functional or Business unit level solutions to self-manage project deliverables within tight timeframes 
  • Work independently and within cross functional project teams, utilizing technical, business, and people skills to build credible relationships and solve business problems.
  • Manage time effectively while working on multiple concurrent projects; communicate with Senior leadership on project stats and provide updates

What you’ll get to do:


  • Minimum 7 – 9 Years of Job Related Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or a diploma requiring 3 - 4 years of full-time study. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technology discipline. Experience in financial institution an asset.  
  • Excellent comprehension of information systems technologies and application architectures.
  • Understanding of banking business model, and regulatory environment. 
  • Possess deep knowledge of emerging trends in Digital Banking, SDLC, Software as a Service, CRM, Cloud computing, mobile first, event driven platform, etc.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of systems development methodologies, system analysis concepts, techniques, and tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of development methodologies including both Agle and Waterfall development.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with individuals at all levels of the company.
  • Strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent writing skills including the design and completion of professional reports and documents.
  • High degree of initiative to manage and prioritize a complex, heavy workload with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities while achieving high level results.
  • Client-focused mindset, delivering superior customer results.
  • Proven ability to adapt to constantly evolving priorities.
