SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Wealth Consultant is directly responsible for delivering a positive and unexpected member experience and achieving business growth objectives through the provision of comprehensive investment and insurance solutions.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a critical role in Coast Capital Saving’s continued success and growth. The role is accountable for the following:
- Proactively identifies member's personal and business financial needs and solutions by considering the member's wealth, business, life goals and other objectives;
- Serve as a resource for members and staff on financial planning, investments, insurance, tax strategies, retirement analysis, estate & succession planning, etc;
- Guides the development and implementation of relevant financial solutions including the preparation of integrated personal financial and business financial plans, based on member’s needs, priorities and/or preferences;
- Enhances the experience of members by being accessible and supporting multiple branches in an assigned area and being available to meet when & where is most convenient for the member;
- Partners with Business Banking and Members to gain commitment and to ensure they improve their financial well-being while achieving identified goals;
- Effectively partners with Business Banking, and Mobile Insurance Specialist partners to ensure members needs are met;
- Ensure ongoing retention of member relationships through superior relationship management practices;
- Effectively refers small business and personal banking opportunities for our members and aligns to sales objectives across Coast’s business lines;
- Actively participates in Small Business & Business Banking campaigns, initiatives and activities where appropriate; and,
- Maintains satisfactory compliance and file administration practices, adheres to policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, and upholds the internal and industry accreditation requirements of the role.
DESIRED CANDIDATE ABILITIES, BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Given the role this individual will play in Coast Capital’s continued growth and success, it is essential that the successful candidate possess the following education, experience, and personal characteristics:
- Post-secondary education, preferably in a related discipline. Alternatively, varying combinations of education and experience will be considered;
- CFP designation, successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH), Wealth Management Essentials (WME), Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), and/or Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation are an asset; and,
- Eligible to be registered with IIROC.
- Minimum 7 – 9 years of related experience;
- Minimum of 7 – 10 years of direct sales experience in the financial industry of which several years have been focused on providing investment advice and financial planning services, inclusive of mutual funds, ETFs and/or insurance sales to business owners;
- Proficient knowledge in large sales and customer management technology systems;
- Solid competency with MS suite of products, specifically Word and Excel;
- Demonstrated success using business planning techniques and providing general tax information to members;
- Demonstrated success advising on a broad range of investment and life insurance products;
- Demonstrated success identifying opportunities and making quality referrals for personal & business credit products and services;
- Professional proficient in sales processes and regulatory or administration requirements; and,
- Articulate and credible expert with a demonstrated record of producing results.
- Ability to mentor a team of Business advisors and maintaining a collaborative environment;
- Ability to effectively build productive member relationships that grow the business portfolio;
