Why Join Us?
Are you a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) passionate about delivering high-impact financial advice? We’re seeking a dedicated financial planning expert to join our team and help empower mass affluent and high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners with tailored, strategic financial guidance.
This role is exclusively focused on financial planning, not product sales, and offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team of Financial (MFDA) and Wealth Planners (IIROC), as well as our business and commercial teams. You’ll be a subject matter expert (SME) in complex planning scenarios, helping shape the financial futures of our members.
What You’ll Do
As a Financial Planning Specialist, you will:
- Deliver Comprehensive Financial Planning:
- Conduct in-depth assessments of cash flow, net worth, tax efficiency, estate structuring, and risk management.
- Create customized plans addressing business succession, cross-border wealth, retirement, and corporate tax strategies.
- Provide insurance guidance without product sales.
- Collaborate Across Teams:
- Partner with Financial and Wealth Planners to integrate planning into broader wealth strategies.
- Participate in joint member meetings with Insurance Specialists to offer planning insights.
- Support planners in enhancing their financial planning skills and software proficiency.
- Mentor and Develop Talent:
- Act as a resource and coach for planners, sharing best practices and improving plan quality.
- Provide training on financial planning software (Conquest Planning).
- Uphold Fiduciary Standards:
- Deliver unbiased, conflict-free advice in line with FP Canada regulations.
- Maintain CFP® certification and adhere to fiduciary principles.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve:
- Keep current with tax legislation, estate planning regulations, and evolving strategies.
- Pursue continuing education and industry certifications.
What You Bring
- CFP® designation (required); TEP designation is an asset.
- 5+ years of experience in comprehensive financial planning for MFDA and IIROC, ideally with high-net-worth clients.
- Expertise in corporate tax planning, estate structuring, trusts, and insurance.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset and mentoring experience.
- Proficiency in financial planning software (Conquest Planning, NaviPlan, PlanPlus).
- Passion for helping others grow and succeed in financial planning.
Why This Role Matters
This is more than a job—it’s a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our members and contribute to the growth of our financial planning team. If you’re a strategic thinker, a trusted advisor, and a collaborative mentor, we’d love to hear from you.
