What's the job?
As the Quantitative Risk Assistant, you will support the implementation and validation of quantitative risk models under the supervision and guidance of senior team members for a wide range of internal customers. The models measure and forecast various organizational risks, including credit, market, liquidity, etc. You will also carry out detailed analyses using these risk models. This highly technical role requires the incumbent to develop analytical or numerical solutions.
What you'll get to do:
• Assist senior team members in the design, development, validation, performance evaluation, maintenance, and risk oversight of models in some of the following areas: stress testing, ICAAP, scorecards, Commercial risk rating systems, liquidity, interest rate risk in the banking book, market risk, regulatory capital, IFRS-9, economic capital and RAROC.
• With oversight, prepare and review model documentation and communication materials.
• Perform detailed analyses using risk or other models.
• Present model design, development, validation, performance evaluation, maintenance, and risk oversight results to the team or other stakeholders.
• Write model source code.
• Research academic literature and industry best practices.
Who You Are:
• You have at least 1-3 years of job-related experience in computer programming skills/experience in Python, Matlab, or VBA.
• Bachelor's Degree or a diploma requiring 3 - 4 years of full-time study.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and efficiently.
• Experience reading financial statements and assets.
• You are proficient in MS Office.
• You have great attention to detail and a willingness to learn complex quantitative modelling techniques.
• Ability to prioritize and work in a team environment.
