Job Purpose
The purpose of the Information Security GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) Co‑op role is to provide practical experience in managing cybersecurity risk through participation in third‑party security due diligence and security training and awareness initiatives. The role supports the GRC team in evaluating vendor security posture, promoting security best practices, and strengthening the organization’s overall risk management framework. This role helps promote a strong security culture while gaining foundational experience in information security governance, risk, and compliance.
This role is hybrid remote based out of our Surrey office (9900 King George Blvd, Surrey, British Columbia). Currently the team meets in office 1-2 times per month based on business needs.
Accountabilities
- Assist the team with performing security risk assessments.
- Assist in identifying, analyzing, and documenting information security risks.
- Draft security awareness content and materials.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders across departments to support security initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and training opportunities.
Skills & Qualifications
- Students enrolled in a Bachelor’s (3rd or 4th year) or Master’s program in Information Security, Cyber Security, or a related field.
- Students with previous co-op experience are preferred.
- Experience with GRC and SIEM solutions is an asset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- A strong willingness to learn and apply risk management principles.
- Able to work independently, when needed.
